New York City Waterfalls Cruise
Experience one of NYC's most epic art installation events of all time, "The New York City Waterfalls" up close and personal in comfort and style aboard the classic 1920's style Yacht Manhattan. Aboard this special event guests will enjoy complimentary champagne and a chance to win a pair of tickets to Broadway's killer Twenties-era show, Chicago! This unprecedented piece of public art created by artist Olafur Eliasson consists of four monumental, man-made waterfalls. The Waterfalls are based in and built from the rivers of New York at four sites along the shores of Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Governors Island. The tallest waterfall will be approximately the same height as the Statue of Liberty!

The Classic Harbor Line hosts her own Schooner Match Race between the Schooners Adirondack and Imagine. Join us for a lunch of fruit, gourmet sandwiches, chips, and dessert as our highly experienced racing crew and captains compete in a three-hour Match Race starting from Chelsea Piers. The race route will vary based on the winds and tides during the event, but sites you'll view along the way are: The New York City skyline, 20-acre Battery Park at the southern tip of Manhattan, where artillery has been stationed over the centuries, Ellis Island, the immigrant doorway to America from 1892 to 1954, The Statue of Liberty, a French gift that arrived in New York Harbor in 1885 and has come to represent our nation's freedom and ideals.

This vessel offers you great views of the fireworks, Statue of Liberty, and NYC skyline, from its forward open air deck, or its glassed-in skylight observatory. Battle of Brooklyn Cruise on Yacht Manhattan
Climb aboard for Battle Week 2008! Join the "Battle for New York" author, Barnet Schecter, as your host on a two-hour cruise aboard the classic 1920's-style yacht, the Manhattan. He'll lead us on an in-depth journey covering the Battle of Brooklyn. We'll start the cruise heading southbound from Chelsea on the Hudson River towards Staten Island, then trace the Brooklyn shore northbound. You'll get a waterfront view of Denys's Ferry, the Gowanus Heights, the Buttermilk Channel and Washington's evacuation route across the East River! Ticket price includes passage, the lecture, one free beverage from the bar and hors d' oeuvres. Additional beverages and Mr. Schecter's books will be available for sale and signing.

The participants in this race are all classic sailing vessels of varying size and sail plans, so expect to see other schooners, sloops, ketches, and fifes from the turn-of-the-century vying for marks across the New York Harbor. The stunning bright work and beautiful classic lines of these historic vessels have been specially maintained by their owners and offer great photo opportunities! Races are scheduled Wednesday through Sunday with a 12:00 gun. Each race each day will have a different course within New York Harbor.
